The difference between industrial grade calcium formate and feed grade calcium formate (1)

January 16, 2020
Industrial grade Calcium Formate is mainly used in construction, as a fast setting agent, lubricant and early strength agent for cement. Calcium formate participation and precautions The amount of calcium formate per ton of dry mortar and concrete is about 0.5 ~ 1.0%, and the large amount is 2.5%. The amount of calcium formate is gradually increased as the temperature decreases. Even if 0.3-0.5% is used in summer, it will have a noticeable early strength effect.
The feed grade calcium formate can be added as an additive in the feed, and as a feed additive, it is important to control the content of heavy metals. Generally, calcium formate used in feed must be directly synthesized from Formic ACID and calcium powder, and cannot be produced by other by-products or metathesis methods, or the impurities brought in by it cannot be controlled. If technical grade calcium formate is added to the feed, the consequences are unimaginable.
In addition, feed calcium formate also has specific requirements for particle size, mainly to maintain its good fluidity.
